2 people were fined because of illegally trading and transporting wild animals

Previously, on September 2, in the area of Huong Son ward (Thai Nguyen City), the Economic Police Team coordinated with the Traffic and Order Police Team of the City Police. Thai Nguyen discovered a car with BKS: 12B-005.22 by driver Nguyen Cong Nghia (was born in 1981, residing in Nha Nam town, Tan Yen district, Bac Giang) that carried an individual suspected as a wildcat. 

The individual wildcat was discovered by the authorities.

Conducting verification, the authorities determined that the individual suspected as a wildcat belonged to Dao Anh Tuan (was born in 1996, residing in group 3, Tan Lap Ward, Thai Nguyen city). Dao Anh Tuan said that individuals suspected as a wildcat was bought from an unknown person through social networks.

The Economic Police Team had completed the procedures, transferred the relevant records and documents and an individual animal to the City Forest Protection Department in Thai Nguyen to settle and handle according to the provisions of law.

According to the determination of Thai Nguyen Provincial Forest Protection Department, the above individual is a wildcat, belonging to the list of group IIB, prescribed in Decree No. 06/2019/ND-CP of the Government on the management of endangered, precious and rare forest plants and animals and implemented the Convention on International Trade in Endangered and Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, the acts of Nguyen Cong Nghia and Dao Anh Tuan violated regulations on wildlife protection.

Pursuant to Article 21, Decree No. 35/2019/ND-CP on April 25, 2019 of the Government on sanctioning of administrative violations in the field of forestry, the City Forest Protection Department in Thai Nguyen made a decision to sanction administrative violations against Nguyen Cong Nghia and Dao Anh Tuan with 10 million VND per person.

For a wild cat, the City Forest Protection Department in Thai Nguyen handed it over to Hoang Lien Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Creatures (Sa Pa town, Lao Cai Province).
