Hanoi: Discovered 2 taxi drivers transporting 3 skin sets and a pair of tiger heads

On the afternoon of March 17, the police of Hoang Mai district, Hanoi had just discovered and detained two taxi drivers in the area to take statements and clarify the act of transporting 3 sets of skins and 1 pair of heads suspected of being tigers.

Earlier, around 2:30 pm on the same day, Division 3 of the Environmental Crime Prevention Police Department, the Ministry of Public Security, in collaboration with the Hoang Mai District Public Security Bureau discoveredThe car with license plate 29E-020xx stopped at the back of Dai An football field located in Phap Van – Tu Hiep urban area with suspicious expressions.

Approaching the inspection, the functional forces discovered on the vehicle containing 3 sets of skins and 1 pair of heads suspected to be products from tigers. 2 drivers confessed, rented transportation for an unfamiliar customer at Nuoc Ngam Bus Station.

Through observation, a tiger skin about more than 3m long has a full part from head to tail. Immediately after that, the functional forces brought the two drivers and exhibits to the Hoang Mai District Police to continue to fight for clarification

According to regulations, tigers are wild animals on the list of endangered, precious and rare species of forest plants and animals, under Group IB according to Decree 06/2019/ND-CP dated January 22, 2019. Therefore, illegally raising, slaughtering, trading in tiger products is a violation of the law.
