The subject of arrest was Truong Thi Hong (SN 1979, residing in Lung Tum hamlet, Tot Cot commune) for illegally transporting 72 individuals of moldy civets fromChina into Vietnam.

According to Ms. Hong’s confession, she was hired by another person to transport the above moldy civets from the Chinese border to Vietnam with the amount of 200,000 VND. However, while being transported to Vietnam, he was discovered and arrested.

According to research, the civet is an endangered and rare forest animal in Group IIB that is prohibited by Vietnamese law from hunting, transporting, trading, and selling.

The case is currently being investigated by the competent forces and handled in accordance with the law.
