After many days of anticipation and numerous works received, the long search for the best writers for wildlife – VIEWS AWARDS 2022 has come to an end. The board of judges had to make tough choices to select the winners among the most passionate and outstanding articles from the participants. And to that we give our biggest thanks!

PRESS AWARDS CATEGORY
First Prize of the Press Awards category: Journalists Pham Hong Hanh and Tran Quan
The work is a series of 4 articles reflecting the status of buying and selling products from tigers on social networks and the tricks to scam consumers. We spread the message affirming that the tiger bones do not have medicinal benefits as rumored and calling on people to protect tigers.

The work is a warning about the illegal wildlife trade on social media, together with the efforts to protect the nature of agencies and organizations in Vietnam. The purpose of the work is the desire to spread human love and responsibility for wildlife.

Runner-up Prizes of the Press Awards category
Journalists Le Thi Tam (leader) and Trang Dieu Qui
The work includes four investigative reports, “Going to the market… ‘bushmeat’” on Tuoi Tre News from May 23 to May 26, 2022, showing the situation of wildlife trade on the busy “online market.” People can order wild cats and mountain turtles easily. The group hopes to contribute their voices and join hands to protect wildlife.

The focus is exposing the status quo of poaching and slaughtering migratory birds in Ha Tinh Province with the aim of propagating to change people’s awareness and urging authorities to intervene to protect migratory birds.

Journalist Hoang Van Chien
The work is a story about old farmers who entered the forest of Vietnam and crossed borders to many countries in Asia to hunt wild animals and destroy forests. They were jailed and “handled” by robbers. The series has proposed propaganda, solutions, and punishment methods to deter offenses throughout the country.
