Woman prosecuted after killing a 10-kg king cobra

On December 5, the Police Investigation Agency of Lam Thao district, Phu Tho province, just issued a prosecution decision to the woman who killed a king cobra weighing nearly 10kg.

Before that, at about 9:30 pm on December 3, at zone 15, Cao Xa commune, Lam Thao district, the police team of economic and drug crimes of Lam Thao district checked a Mai Linh brand taxi owned by Mr. Vu Hong H., in which they discovered Le Thi Phuong (born in 1986, residing at No. 8, Lane 20, Kim Giang Street, Kim Giang Ward, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi) hiding a glass bottle containing a dead cobra.

Immediately, the subject and the evidence of the case were brought to the headquarters for investigation.

At the police station, Ms. Le Thi Phuong declared that the cobra was a king cobra weighing about 10 kg, raised by Phuong and kept at home in group 3, Tien Chau ward, Phuc Yen city, Vinh Phuc province.

Phuong then posted the cobra for sale on social media for 31 million VND. After a customer placed an order, on December 3, Phuong slaughtered the snake and was delivering it. On the way through Lam Thao district, Phuong was checked, discovered and arrested by Lam Thao district police.
